INSPIRE is an outcomes measure designed to assess a service user’s experiences of the support they receive from a mental health worker for their recovery.

The measure is completed by a service user and has two sections – Support and Relationships.

There are 21 questions in the Support section, asking about particular types of support that can be offered for recovery, how important each type is to them and whether their mental health worker offers it.

The Relationships section asks about the relationship between the service user and the mental health worker.

INSPIRE has been developed as part of the REFOCUS programme of work undertaken by the Recovery Research Team, Institute of Psychiatry, King’s College London.
