How do we create leadership capacity for an uncertain future?

In a blog post written earlier this year Steve Onyett writes,

Leadership Capacity… the scale and pace of change is currently so rapid that even the comparatively immediate future (even say the next five years) remains very difficult to fathom …Times of crisis are often a source for huge leaps forward in growth’

This is an exciting time for personal and collective human development. At the same time, as John Watters has recently observed, “Many of our taken-for-granted ideas about governance, organising and leading are bankrupt” … In the public sector we particularly need to support the development of leadership capacity by end of users of services and their supports, perhaps using new models that make notions of “service” and “user” anachronisms.
