UCLPartners helps people to work together to translating cutting edge research and innovation into measureable health and wealth gain for patients and populations in London, across the UK and globally.
UCLPartners is an academic health science partnership with over 40 higher education and NHS members, and a central team providing operational support and clinical academic leadership through a not-for-profit company.
Together, the member organisations form one of the world’s leading centres of medical discovery, healthcare innovation and education. They have come together through UCLPartners to improve health outcomes and create wealth for a population of over six million people in north east and north central London, south and west Hertfordshire, south Bedfordshire and south west and mid Essex. By working together, the members are able to implement improvements in healthcare at greater scale and pace.
UCLPartners is unique because it facilitates the improvement of healthcare through a range of clinical and academic designated roles. UCLPartners is an Academic Health Science Centre, Academic Health Science Network, NIHR Collaboration for Leadership in Applied Health Research and Care, an Education Lead Provider and aligned with NIHR Clinical Research Network North Thames.
UCLPartners operate across organisational boundaries, harnessing academia in biomedicine, the social and physical sciences, the humanities and other disciplines to solve the healthcare challenges of populations whilst creating wealth.
UCLPartners aligns five approaches or ‘levers’ to translate innovation into practice. These levers connect discovery research, participation in large scale clinical trials, implementation of innovation, evaluation of innovation in practice and education. Combined, these levers enable us to translate cutting edge research and innovation into practice and then to measure the impact on health and wealth.
